Mark Christensen graduated from Loma Linda University with a master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 1998, completed the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certificate program in 2010, and has completed Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) Level 1 certification. For most of his career he has been a part of a multidisciplinary pain management program – first at Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific in Honolulu, then at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute here in Spokane. Work settings has been primarily outpatient orthopedics, but has also included acute care, skilled nursing facilities, and ergonomics consulting.

He enjoys problem solving, learning, teaching, and hearing people’s stories. Born and raised in the Inland Northwest, Mark likes to play outside, enjoying a variety of seasonal sports.

Dr. Lewis is at the helm of both Northwest Spine and Pain Medicine and Northwest Center for Regenerative Medicine, where he serves as medical director. Additionally, he imparts his vast knowledge as an assistant clinical professor in pain medicine at WSU School of Medicine and as an attending physician for the Providence St. Luke’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency program. Since 2022, his exceptional skills and dedication have earned him a spot among the top three best pain doctors in Spokane.

Beyond his clinical expertise, Dr. Lewis is a passionate researcher with numerous scientific publications in pain medicine. His groundbreaking work and innovative approaches make him a sought-after medical education lecturer, captivating audiences with his insights and advancements in the field.
