James Foster

Registered Nurse Provider Profile

James Foster graduated from Walden University with a Master’s degree in 2016 and has been serving and caring for patients of all ages for the past two decades. He has training and experience in Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Rehabilitation and Geriatric Medicine. A licensed nurse for twenty years, James spent much of this time caring for elderly patients in skilled-nursing and rehabilitation homes providing interdisciplinary service and care plans for individuals with acute and chronic health conditions.

James served as the clinical team lead in Primary and Behavioral Health Care Integration for three years and also served for the Salvation Army Michigan Turning Point Program as a Waivered Provider of outpatient and inpatient psychiatric services for Christian counseling. “I consider my nursing services a privilege which has polarized my professional ambition and direction toward individuals affected by chronic health disparities.” This notion is based on a non-judgemental, stigma-free, humanitarian-holistic approach which places the individual as the center-focus and empowers self-management and ownership of their care.

Two decades of nursing has made James an advocate for wellness promotion which incorporates an individual’s personal, spiritual and cultural beliefs. “Nursing has transformed me to facilitate and focus energy towards realizing and actualizing a person’s goals, optimizing their full potential and their recovery.”
